Antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship for reducing AMR in pneumonia
Estimated time for completion: 30 minutes
This module covers the global perspective on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and diagnostic stewardship, including reference to European microbial consumption, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of C-reactive protein (CRP) point-of-care testing (POCT) to guide antibiotic prescribing, and clinical guideline updates.
All healthcare professionals and coordinators involved in the prescription of antibiotics
- Understand the challenge and impact of AMR globally
- Learn about the potential interventions, specifically related to CRP POCT
- Understand the HTA endorsements relating to POCT
- Review clinical guidance related to CRP testing in pneumonia and respiratory tract infections
- Identify potential barriers to implementation of POCT to reduce AMR
